Renovation of the upper floor of a residence. The clients are a young couple who have been living in the current state for several years. In terms of the home’s layout, the bedroom is relatively large compared to the rest of the living space. Therefore, the proposal involves moving the partition wall between the bedroom and the living room. The existing openings in the load-bearing wall have been retained (cost-effective).
The current entrance to the living space is closed off and now provides additional storage space in the kitchen. The current entrance to the bedroom becomes the entrance to the living space. The bedroom is accessible from the living room through a sliding door. When the sliding door is open, it creates a bright, open-plan living space with natural light flowing through.
